I’ve done a really poor job of writing as of late. I’m going to blame my inactivity, with the blog and in life, on an injury. I’ve been really fortunate that in my six or seven years of semi-serious running I’ve been largely injury free. I attribute that to both paying attention to my body and doing a majority of my running on the trails. Since I’ve moved to Illinois, it’s much easier to throw on my shoes, head out the door, and run on the roads. I’m not sure if that’s the reason, but that’s what I’m blaming it on. Since the beginning of June I’ve been experiencing a lot of discomfort in my right achilles tendon. The soonest the doctor could get me in to take a look is going to be the beginning of Septemeber. Fingers crossed that it’s simply tendonitis. I’ve been really mopey since I’ve lost my running. Starting tomorrow I plan on hitting the gym and working on improving on some areas that need improvement.
